West Vale stands in its own grounds, offers ample off road car parking for the comfort of our guests and is non smoking throughout.

The house has been renovated and re-furbished in traditional style to a very high standard. This is complemented by fine antique furnishings and prints.

Breakfast is special at West Vale. Traditionally English in style and cooked to our exacting standards. For those who prefer something lighter or a little different there are continental and vegetarian options on offer, with the addition of our a la carte breakfast menu.

All our en-suite bedrooms are individually furnished to a high standard and benefit from splendid views. Bedrooms have tea/coffee making facilities; colour TV's, Radio alarms, Hairdryers, Bath Robes and a Decanter of Sherry.

This, coupled with our policy of continual improvement ensures that your time spent at West Vale Country House is unlike time spent anywhere else.

 

AFTERNOON TEA

The Afternoon Tea Menu is a special treat at West Vale and may be taken in the Lounge, on the terrace or in the garden on warm days.

West Vale Cottage

This delightful, cosy, single storey, detached holiday cottage, with large French windows allowing you to see the lovely views across the surrounding countryside, is situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park.

The cottage is in the middle of Beatrix Potter country and the village has several good restaurants nearby. You are 3.5 miles from Windermere across the lake ferry, a centre for watersports and climbing enthusiasts. For the less adventurous visitor Windermere offers a multitude of charming shops, pubs and restaurants to relax away the day in. Just over 2 miles from Hawkshead, enjoying lovely views across Esthwaite Water on the way.

Enjoy excellent walks including Tarn Hows 3 miles away, while the many activities of Grizedale Forest are 3.5 miles. Local attractions include: Lakeland Equestrian, garden centres, National Trust buildings, gardens, historical houses and museums, galleries including the famous Beatrix Potter Centre and visitor centres to name a few.

Shop 75 yards, pub 150 yards, restaurant 100 yards.
